TILT
Tilt is a plastic housing designed to integrate existing Mahindra and Erkunt Tractor components into a unified solution. The design accommodates Mahindra’s tiltable steering column while incorporating Erkunt’s instrument cluster, creating a functional and visually cohesive interface for the new hybrid tractor segment.
Launch Year; 2019
Project Duration; 1 year
My Role: Leading the design process, researching, ideation, generating concepts, visualization, creating production-ready photoshop and illustrator files, communicating directly with the manufacturer for production.
Background
Erkunt Tractor was acquired by Mahindra & Mahindra in 2017. Following the acquisition, Mahindra initiated the development of a hybrid tractor segment in 2019 by combining existing components from both brands. These included Mahindra’s tiltable steering column and Erkunt’s front body and instrument cluster. The objective of the project was to design an integrated solution that would seamlessly connect these components while ensuring functional and visual compatibility.

Seeking Something New

Tilt was designed for a crossbred tractor segment that combines existing components from both Mahindra and Erkunt Tractor. The design provides a functional and visually cohesive solution that integrates three key dashboard components—the front body, steering column, and instrument cluster—into a unified assembly.

Checking All Details
Used 3D-printed models for the plastic components and bent sheet metal for the connections to test the assembly process before moving forward with injection molding.
