BREEZE

Breeze is a collection of laundry baskets developed for Target and Walmart, featuring distinct design approaches, sizes, and functional features tailored to each retailer. The collection was created to replace an outdated Sterilite laundry basket family with more modern, functional, and market-relevant designs.

My Role: Researching, ideation, generating concepts and sketches, visualization, creating production-ready CAD and 3D printing models, communicating with the engineers and marketing people to make design decisions.

Background

The main goal of the project was to redesign Sterilite’s 2 Bushel Rectangle, 1.5 Bushel Square, 1.25 Bushel HipHold, and 1.5 Bushel Stacking laundry baskets with improved handle strength and a more modern aesthetic. The new designs were developed primarily for Target and Walmart, balancing durability, functionality, and contemporary retail expectations.

Mapping The Problem Results

The problem mapping identified key design priorities: creating a durable and competitive product with a sturdy handle area, contemporary perforation patterns, and a modern aesthetic, while maintaining a visually cohesive design language across the entire product family.
